Over 300,000 farmers have committed suicide in India in the last 15 years due to ﬁnancial hardships Once Upon A Doug is a non-proﬁt project helping women from cotton farming communities around Wardha/Vidharbha in Maharashtra. it helps these women get reliable, secondary income from hand-made, up-cycled cotton bracelets called Doug. Proceeds from the sales go back into the project and the community. Poorva Shingre works for Once upon a Doug project. Why does she do that? For her Being a giving human is far greater than being human.
